Speed Friending

Posted by admin on Thursday Feb 16, 2012 Under MCFTB

SPEED FRIENDING When Thursday March 15, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM PDT Where O’Club–Mesa Room

One of the lifestyle stressors that affect military families is social isolation. Many may not feel comfortable interacting in a new environment and sometimes isolate themselves at home while their Marine is at work or on deployment. They choose not to participate in unit family functions or even community activities. Military families who do not regularly interact with members of their community often experience anxiety, stress, and depression as a result of negative coping strategies. MCFTB wants to help you fight this stressor. Join us on March 15th from 6- 8 p.m. at our Basewide Speed Friending Event. This interactive workshop will help spouses to create new friendships through a networking style medium. We will discuss different communication techniques, the importance of establishing new friendships and managing relationships in a military community. Enroll by either using the attached link to enroll online, email melody.sutton@usmc.mil or call us at 760-830-3110.
